Using Boardwise on Mobile

Using Boardwise on Mobile

You can use Boardwise on your phone or tablet through the native app or your web browser. Either way, the interface adapts to your screen size, so you can access meetings, documents, and notifications wherever you are.

Accessing Boardwise on Your Device

For the best experience on a phone or tablet, install the native Boardwise app:

The app adds native push notifications for meeting reminders and updates, fast document downloads, and a full-screen experience built for touch. Sign in with your usual Boardwise account — there is nothing extra to set up. See Installing Boardwise as an App for step-by-step instructions.

In Your Web Browser

You can also use Boardwise without installing anything. Open your mobile browser (Safari, Chrome, or any modern browser), go to your organization's Boardwise URL, and sign in as you normally would. The interface adjusts to fit your screen, with navigation that works well for touch.

What Works Well on Mobile

Viewing Your Dashboard

Your dashboard displays upcoming meetings and action items in a mobile-friendly layout. You can quickly see what requires your attention and tap to view details.

Checking Meeting Details

View meeting information including date, time, location, and agenda items. The meeting page shows everything you need to prepare for or join a meeting.

Responding to Meeting Invitations

Tap RSVP buttons directly from your notification emails or on the meeting page to confirm your attendance. You can indicate whether you plan to attend in person or virtually.

Reading Documents

Open and read PDF documents in the built-in viewer. Scroll through board materials while commuting or during brief moments between other commitments.

Reviewing Notifications

Access your notification center from the bell icon to see meeting invitations, reminders, and other updates. Mark notifications as read or tap to navigate directly to related items.

Viewing Your Action Items

Check your assigned tasks and their due dates. Review action item details and track what needs your attention.

What's Easier on Desktop

While Boardwise is fully functional on mobile, some tasks are more comfortable on a larger screen:

Uploading Documents

Attaching files to meetings or the document library is easier when you can navigate your computer's file system. Mobile file selection can be cumbersome for multiple uploads.

Complex Editing

Creating meetings with multiple agenda items, editing organization settings, or managing committee memberships involves forms and multiple fields that benefit from a keyboard and larger display.

Annotating Documents

Adding highlights and notes to PDF documents works best with a mouse or stylus. Fine-grained positioning is challenging on smaller touch screens.

Reviewing Analytics

Meeting analytics dashboards with attendance data and document readership statistics are designed for wider screens where you can see the full picture at once.

Installing Boardwise as an App

For quicker access, push notifications, and offline document support, install the Boardwise app from the App Store (iPhone & iPad) or Google Play (Android). See Installing Boardwise as an App for step-by-step instructions, including how to install Boardwise on a computer.

Tips for Mobile Use

Enable Notifications

Allow your browser to show notifications so you receive alerts for meeting invitations and reminders even when you're not actively using Boardwise.

Use Calendar Integration

Accept meeting invitations from your calendar app. Your RSVP syncs automatically to Boardwise, and you'll have the meeting on your calendar for easy reference.

Bookmark the Sign-In Page

Save the Boardwise URL to your bookmarks or add it to your home screen for one-tap access.

Rotate for Documents

When reading documents, rotate your phone to landscape orientation for a wider view that better matches document proportions.

Meeting invitation emails include one-tap buttons to respond Yes, No, or Maybe. You can RSVP directly from email without opening the app.

Offline Document Access

You can save meeting documents to your device for offline reading — useful when traveling or in areas with poor connectivity. On any meeting page, tap Save for offline to download the PDF documents to your device. They will be available even without an internet connection.

Most other features (notifications, action items, managing meetings) require an internet connection.

See Viewing Documents Offline for full details on saving, managing, and troubleshooting offline documents.
