Understanding Your Dashboard

Understanding Your Dashboard

Your dashboard is the first thing you see when you sign in to Boardwise. It provides a personalized overview of your board and committee work across all your organizations.

Dashboard showing upcoming meetings and action items

What the Dashboard Shows

The dashboard gives you a quick snapshot of:

  • Upcoming meetings you need to attend
  • Action items assigned to you
  • Your organizations (for users with multiple organizations)

This helps you stay on top of your responsibilities without navigating through each organization individually.

Upcoming Meetings Section

The left side of your dashboard displays your upcoming meetings from the next three months. For each meeting, you can see:

  • The meeting title and associated board or committee
  • Date and time (displayed in your timezone)
  • The organization it belongs to

Click any meeting to view its full details, including the agenda and attached documents.

If no meetings are scheduled within the next three months but you have one further out, the dashboard shows when your next meeting is and provides a link to view all meetings.

Viewing More Meetings

Click the Upcoming Meetings header or select View all meetings to access your complete meeting schedule. From there you can:

  • See a list of all upcoming meetings
  • View past meetings you attended
  • Switch between list and calendar views

Action Items Assigned to You

The right side of your dashboard shows pending action items where you are an assignee. Each item displays:

  • The task title
  • The due date (if set)
  • The organization where the task was created

Click any action item to view its full details, add comments, or mark your assignment complete.

Viewing All Your Action Items

Click the Action Items header to see your complete list of assignments. You can also access this from My Action Items in the navigation. From there, switch to the Completed tab to review tasks you have finished.

Quick Access to Common Tasks

From your dashboard, you can quickly:

  • View your schedule - Click Upcoming Meetings to see your full calendar
  • Check your action items - Click Action Items to see all pending tasks
  • Switch organizations - Click any organization card to enter that workspace
  • Create a new organization - If you have permission, click the plus icon to add an organization

Dashboard for Multi-Organization Users

If you belong to multiple organizations, your dashboard serves as a unified home across all of them.

Organization Cards

Below the meetings and action items sections, you see cards for each organization you belong to. Each card shows:

  • The organization name and logo
  • Profile pictures of other members

Click any organization card to enter that workspace and access its meetings, documents, people, and committees.

Switching Between Organizations

When you are inside an organization, use the organization name in the navigation to return to your dashboard. From there, select a different organization card to switch workspaces.

Single Organization Users

If you belong to only one organization, Boardwise automatically takes you directly to that organization's home page when you sign in, skipping the multi-organization dashboard.

Your dashboard is the starting point for several personal views:

  • My Schedule - Calendar and list views of all your meetings
  • My Action Items - All tasks assigned to you with status tracking
  • My Notes - Annotations you have made on documents
  • Notifications - Updates about meetings, documents, and mentions

Access these through the navigation menu or by clicking the relevant dashboard sections.
