Login Issues
Having trouble signing in to Boardwise? This guide covers common login problems and how to resolve them.
There Is No Password
Boardwise doesn't use passwords, so there is nothing to forget or reset. To sign in:
- Go to the Boardwise sign-in page
- Enter your email address and click Sign in with email
- Check your email for a message from Boardwise
- Click the link in the email, or type the 8-character code on the sign-in page
- You will be signed in automatically
If you have set up a passkey, you can click Sign in with Passkey instead.
Magic Link Not Arriving
If you requested a magic link or login code but have not received it:
Check your spam or junk folder
Email filters sometimes catch automated messages. Look for an email from Boardwise in your spam, junk, or promotions folder.
Wait a few minutes
Email delivery can be delayed by a few minutes, especially during high-traffic periods. If the email does not arrive within 5 minutes, try again.
Verify your email address
Make sure you entered the correct email address. The email is sent to the exact address you typed, so check for typos.
Rate limiting
For security, you can only request one magic link per minute. If you see a message about rate limiting, wait 60 seconds before trying again.
Check with your IT department
Some corporate email systems block certain automated emails. Your IT department may need to whitelist emails from Boardwise.
Account Blocked
If you see a message that your access has been blocked:
Why accounts get blocked
An administrator at your organization has blocked your access. This typically happens when:
- Your role or position at the organization has ended
- A security concern requires immediate access revocation
- An error was made during administrative changes
How to resolve
Contact your organization's administrator or corporate secretary. They can unblock your access if appropriate.
If you believe your access was blocked in error, reach out to the person who originally invited you to Boardwise.
Passkey and WebAuthn Issues
Passkeys provide a fast, secure way to sign in using your fingerprint, face, or device PIN. If you are having trouble:
Passkey not recognized
- Make sure you are using the same device where you originally set up the passkey
- Passkeys are device-specific; a passkey created on your laptop will not work on your phone
- Try signing in with your email instead, then register a new passkey on the current device
"Passkey not registered" error
This passkey is not linked to your Boardwise account. Sign in with your email and register this device as a new passkey in your Security settings.
Session expired during passkey setup
If you see "Session expired. Please refresh the page and try again," refresh the page and start the passkey registration process again.
Device not supported
Passkeys require a compatible device and browser. Most modern browsers on recent devices support passkeys. If your device does not support passkeys, use email-based login instead.
Multiple passkeys
You can register multiple passkeys for different devices. Go to your Security settings to manage your registered passkeys or add new ones.
Session Expired
Sessions expire after a period of inactivity to protect your account.
Signs your session has expired
- You are redirected to the sign-in page when accessing Boardwise
- You see an "unauthorized" or "session expired" message
- Pages that previously loaded now require you to sign in again
Re-authenticating
Simply sign in again using your preferred method:
- Passkey: Click "Sign in with Passkey" if you have one registered
- Email: Enter your email to receive a magic link or login code
Staying signed in
Sessions remain active as long as you use Boardwise regularly. If you frequently get signed out:
- Check that your browser is not set to clear cookies when closed
- Make sure you are not using private or incognito browsing mode
- Verify that your device clock is set correctly
