Adding Another Organization

Adding Another Organization to Boardwise

You can manage more than one organization from the same Boardwise account. This is useful if you serve as a corporate secretary or director for multiple boards — each organization keeps its own members, meetings, documents, and audit trail, and you can switch between them from your home page.

Who can create an organization?

Anyone with a Boardwise account can create a new organization. You become the first administrator of any organization you create, which lets you invite directors, set up committees, and configure governance settings.

If your current organization has restricted new-organization creation for compliance reasons, you may not see the option to add one. Contact your administrator if you believe this was set in error.

How to add an organization

  1. Go to the Create an Organization page.
  2. Enter the new organization's name, industry, entity type, and jurisdiction. You can update these later from Organization Settings.
  3. Set your fiscal year end month so that reporting periods line up with your financial calendar.
  4. Optionally upload a logo and add a welcome note for members.
  5. Click Create.

Your new organization starts in Setup Mode. No invitation emails or meeting notifications are sent while you're in setup, so you can take your time adding directors, committees, and initial documents before going live.

For a walkthrough of what to do next, see Getting Started and the Organization Setup Guide.

Switching between organizations

Once you belong to more than one organization, your home page shows a list of all the organizations you're part of. Click any organization to enter it. To return to the list, click the Boardwise logo in the top navigation.

Billing

Each organization is billed separately. Adding a new organization does not affect the subscription or invoice for any other organization you belong to.
